Day lodge at Bear Creek sells coffee and snacks

Espresso at the Day Lodge

Open 7 days a week is our day lodge, featuring a roaring fireplace, gourmet espresso, and snacks for the trail. Guest enjoy checking into the day lodge to first meet a Bear Creek Lodge staff person, who will share some of the history of the town and take them to their cabin. Be sure to check out the book nook in the loft (a kid heaven!).

New Wash Hut

Most of the cabins at Bear Creek Lodge are “dry” cabins (meaning no indoor water or plumbing). And while a trip to an outhouse may be authentically Alaskan, there simply isn’t anything quite like a hot shower and flushing toilet after a day of exploration. Our new wash hut facilities were finished in 2022 and features 2) 1/2 baths and 2) 3/4 bath restrooms. Each cabin is located near the Wash Hut, so it’s just a quick walk to the Wash Hut from your cabin. Note that The Cottage is currently our only cabin with a full private bathroom and kitchen; each of our other cabins have no indoor plumbing of their own.

Sauna is for guest use at Bear Creek Lodge

Sauna Use

Our electric sauna is open 24 hours a day in a tiny log cabin that comfortably fits up to 5 adults. Simply turn on the sauna and relax in spa-like tranquility in the middle of the woods.

Coffee, tea, a microwave and mini fridge are all available in every cabin at Hope Alaska's Bear Creek Lodge

Mini Appliances

While each cabin has a different layout, each cabin is equipped with a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, and electric tea kettle. Additionally, we place tea bags and instant coffee for your morning routine. Need more? Simply stop into the day lodge for a piping hot cup of gourmet espresso or tea.
